The galleries formerly know as My Senior Moment are closed.

When I began using My Senior Moment, over a year ago, I was at loose ends. A number of significant life changes were happening that I wanted to embrace. Living My Senior Moment just seemed to fit. I like the idea of living the moment and enjoying the life but I have been finding the concept a bit constraining. My desire is to take a sharper focus at places and nature.
The Northwest has so many opportunities to experience both beautiful places and the wonders of nature. Keeping with the concept of the ‘Decisive Moment’ that is credited to Cartier-Bresson, and incorporating the Northwest, I have arrived at A Northwest Moment.
Along with this change, I have decided not to use Smug-Mug as my hosting service going forward. Not because they don’t meet my needs, quite the contrary. For a photo hosting site they are excellent. But I also want to tell more of the story behind the photo. That means a photo blog site. After evaluating a number of options, I have arrived back at WordPress with a new theme called Autofocus. Autofocus puts the photos up front while allowing me to tell the story behind the image.
If you have been wondering where I had wandered off to, now you know. Jump over to A Northwest Moment, at http://www.anwmoment.com. The journey just took another turn in the road.
Thanks
Dave
ps. I will be closing down the Smug-Mug Galleries in April. This blog will become the landing page for My Senior Moment into May, and then it will automatically redirect to A Northwest Moment.
There is never a dull moment around here. Making changes at the home; making changes here…
OK, I wasn’t making the time to get ocPortal up and configured here. I didn’t want to leave the site locked up, so I put the WordPress configuration back in place.
We have changed our hosting mind you. We are now hosted by HostMonster instead of GoDaddy. Nothing against GoDaddy except that HostMonster was a bit less expensive with some extra features. I think GoDaddy may have a more robust infrastructure, but I thought the savings by going to HostMonster more than make up for it.
Anyway, there are more changes to come as I am still exploring options.
Thanks for your patience, I will be sharing more images and moments.

That’s right, we are packing up for a moment and moving to a new hosting provider. Not only that, but we are going to try out a new tool. Instead of WordPress, we are going to play with a tool called ocPortal.
We have decided the there is more potential for providing information in a better way. The move will happen before the 20th of February, so hang on to your hats.
By the way, we will still maintain our galleries on SmugMug. There will be change however.

Everybody can agree that the Christmas and New Years celebrations are a time to get together with family. If you follow this blog enough, you will see that to me, family is number 1.
So, Leah, Greg and Skylar came down from Bremerton on Friday night and Kelly joined us on Saturday. It was a great weekend with family friends dropping by, games being played and granddaughter being terrorized.
Friday night Skylar had some strawberries with dinner, and a bunch more in the morning on waffles. She has had strawberries before, so we were not at all ready for the reaction. Poor kid must have been going nuts with the rash that formed.
Anyway, I am locked in a love/hate relationship with this portrait. Skylar is sitting in my desk chair and posing like a princess. Love it. The desk behind was cluttered with books an papers, most of which I have been able to mask away except the area of her top not. The colors are just too close for the better masking programs i’ve tried, to differentiate between her hair and the books resulting in a flag flying from her head. I hate it!
So I have taken a moment to get organized and tidy up. The stuff is now in different piles on the same desk.
